Successful Strategic Goals

TaNPUD reached its strategic goal of 2015 to 2018 of having a network that has member organizations as members. TaNPUD had 12 member organizations by 2019, and 7 other organizations that were still being observed if they are meeting the targets to be members of the network.

ABOUT US

Know About TaNPUD’s

TaNPUD was found in October, 2010 and established in 2011 in February by a dozen groups of drug users from five districts of Dar Es Salaam. Tanzania.. By 2015 February 15thTaNPUD got registered under the ministry of home affairs. TaNPUD had 220 individual members when it was established by the time it got registered TaNPUD had a vision to serve as a network of people who use drugs that will have member organizations that are from regions who are community led organizations of people who use drugs. UNESCO. 2016

TaNPUD works with UNESCO to implement an educational project on the effect of drug abuse. Education provided in 12 schools of Temeke and Kigamboni District.

GF KANCO 2017. 2019

TaNPUD implemented a Mapping project from Global Fund under KANCO in Kenya. Mapping of PWUIDS in Mwanza, Tanga, Mbeya, Temeke, Kinondoni, Ilala, Kigamboni and Pwani. By this project, TaNPUD came up with the real situation from the ground concerning PWUIDs.

COMPASS TZ PROJECT

TaNPUD implements COMPASS project under AVAC and PZAT as Sub grant for BMGF in COMPASS coalition. Project to Advocate for Better environment for PWUDs, where there is less harassment by Legal enforcement agencies and health care workers towards PWUDs. Harm reduction service to be increased in cities/towns and in prison settings.

KPIF PROJECT. 2020

TaNPUD implemented the KIPF project from CDC-MDH under the KPIF to aid in mobilizing PWUIDs in Kibaha-Pwani for HIV testing and linkage, TB screening and MAT services linkage

GF THPS

TaNPUD has implemented projects being funded by GF through THPS. Project to support Methadone programs for PWUIDs in prisons and support needle and syringe programs in Malinyi district.
